Nutley Family Service Bureau, located at 169 Chestnut Street, Nutley, has been active in the community providing outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals. Outpatient counseling, assessment, and referral are offered virtually and in person. We accept most insurances including Medicaid and offer a sliding scale fee for those without insurance. In addition to mental health services, NFSB’s food pantry provides food to families that qualify in Nutley and in emergency situations, surrounding townships. Our case management program aids individuals and families in acquiring services for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), housing, insurance, and other benefits. Our free Community Mental Health Workshop Series is scheduled to begin in March offering workshops about relevant topics.  Go to Nutleyfamily.org for staff bios and more information.

Title: Supporting Social Emotional Needs for Our Children with Disabilities

Description: Let's talk about ways to support our children with ADHD, anxiety and executive functioning issues. This session will promote strategies and tools that best support our childrens' social emotional needs while helping them be successful at starting, sustaining and finishing tasks, decreasing distractions, creating a home study area to support them, helping them learn ways to regulate their emotions while we learn to regulate ours as well. During this session, we will also explore the importance of promoting independence and self-advocacy. We will also discuss conflict resolution and better communication styles that help our children with special needs.
