Dear Spring Garden School Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope this letter finds you well and that you have enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer break. As we prepare to embark on another exciting academic year, I wanted to take a moment to extend a warm welcome to all our students, parents, and staff.

This year promises to be one of growth, learning, and new opportunities. Our dedicated team of educators has been working tirelessly to create a supportive and engaging environment where every student can thrive. We are committed to fostering a love of learning, encouraging curiosity, and helping each child reach their fullest potential.

Important Dates and Information:

  • First Day of School: Wednesday, September 4 Single-Session Day 8:30a.m.-12:30 p.m. (K-6). Preschool times to follow.
  • Parent Portal will Open End of August: Student Homeroom Assignment                                    
  • Back-to-School Night: Thursday, September 19 (More Details to Follow)
  • School Hours:      K-6 Full Day    8:30 am- 3:20 p.m.

Parent and Community Involvement: We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is essential for student success. We encourage parents to get involved through our PTO, volunteer opportunities, and attending school events. Your support and involvement make a significant difference in our school community.

Communication: Effective communication is vital, and we strive to keep you informed about important updates and events. Please make sure to regularly check our school website.  Additionally, we will send out newsletters and important notices via email, so please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date.

Safety and Well-being: The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We continue to ensure we maintain a safe learning environment..

The Nutley School District serves approximately 4,100 students in Kindergarten through grade 12. The five elementary schools serve students K-6 and include Lincoln School, Radcliffe School, Spring Garden School, Washington School and Yantacaw School. John H. Walker Middle School serves students in grades 7-8 while Nutley High School addresses the needs of students in grades 9-12.
