This month, Nutley High School welcomed Mrs. Ashley Barnes to the role of Vice Principal. Mrs. Barnes comes to the Nutley community from Teaneck High School, where she has worked since  2019 as a general education and special education teacher. In addition to her role in the classroom, Ms. Barnes was the Senior Class Advisor, District Tutoring Coordinator, and an Assistant Girls and Boys Volleyball Coach.

 

Mrs. Barnes has a BA in Art History from Montclair State University; a Masters of Education in Special Education from Montclair State University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Ramapo. She will work closely with Principal Williams and Vice Principal Rovetto as leaders of NHS.

 

“As a school leader here in Nutley, I will constantly encourage students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are as well as embrace the differences that come with living in a diverse community, Mrs. Barnes said.


 

About

The Nutley School District serves approximately 4,100 students in Kindergarten through grade 12. The five elementary schools serve students K-6 and include Lincoln School, Radcliffe School, Spring Garden School, Washington School and Yantacaw School. John H. Walker Middle School serves students in grades 7-8 while Nutley High School addresses the needs of students in grades 9-12.
