**Students are permitted to bring in refillable water bottles. All water bottles must be able to seal shut. Water bottles that have straws are not permitted, they fall (often) and leak. Pop-top water bottles are recommended.  

 

Kindergarten: 

(4) BLACK FINE point Expo dry erase markers, (4) Elmers’s glue sticks, (1) eraser for the dry erase board, (2) Pocket Folders, Activity or Coloring Book, 4 pack (regular size) of Play-Doh

 

Grade 1: We kindly request that each student bring the following items to school on the first day:

  •  (2) 24-pack crayons, (2) 12 packs of pencils, (1) pack dry erase markers, an eraser for the dry-erase board (1) two-pocket folder, (1) pack index cards,  (1) pack of glue sticks  
  • We also use Play-Doh for our after-lunch quiet time. If you would like to donate a package to the classroom, we would greatly appreciate it! 

NOTE: These supplies will be pooled together and distributed as needed throughout the school year. This approach helps us to manage resources efficiently and ensures that every student has access to necessary materials at all times.

Grade 2, self-contained ABA: (1) kid-friendly scissors, (1) dry erase board, (4) glue sticks, (2) reusable dry erase pockets, fine point expo markers (black only), (1) pack MAD MATTER sand, (1) 24-pack crayons, (1) 8-pack washable markers, (1) two-pocket folder, (1) pencil box (no pop-its), (1) box of tissues, (2) Lysol wipes (no bleach), (1) hand sanitizer, (1) 1-inch binder with clear front pocket, (3) rolls paper towels, (1) pack latex free disposable gloves, (2) packs baby wipes unscented, (1) change of clothes

 

Grade 3:  Please bring the following items on the first day of school:

(2) packs of THIN dry erase markers (about 16 markers in total), (1) dry erase board, (1) dry erase board eraser, (1) pack of 24 crayons (no larger), (4) large glue sticks, many pencils (2, 24 packs are suggested), (2) plain marble composition notebook (these will be decorated the first weeks of school), (2) red pens, (1) fabric pencil case (no pencils boxes), (2)- 4 pack of 3x3 post-its,(1) pair of headphones inside a Ziploc bag (no earbuds), (2) Lysol/Clorox wipes,(2) boxes of tissues. *Please consider plastic reusable water bottles instead of metal.  Metal bottles often cause loud disturbances in the classroom.


 

Grade 3, self-contained ABA: (1) 1-inch binder with clear front pocket, (2) glue sticks, (2) reusable dry erase pockets, (4) fine point expo markers in black, (1) 12-pack of pencils, (1) 24-pack crayons, (1) 8-pack markers, (2) two-pocket folders, (2) packs of unscented baby wipes, (2) containers of Clorox/Lysol wipes, (1) pack of latex-free disposable gloves, (1) change of clothes

 

Grade 4: (1) soft / fabric pencil case, (1) 12-pack of pencils, (2) composition books (1 for a reading journal and 1 for a writing journal), (1) 1-subject notebook with a pocket (for Math), fine point dry erase markers (1 box of 12 for the year), dry erase board eraser (an old face cloth or cut up towel works great.), pencils/erasers, pens, 3 x 3 in. Post-It Notes, colored pencils, (1) box of tissues, (1) container of wipes, headphones

 

Grade 4, self-contained ABA: (2) glue sticks, (2) reusable dry erase pockets, (4) fine point expo markers in black, (1) 12-pack of pencils, (1) 24-pack crayons, (1) 8-pack markers, (2) two-pocket folders, (2) packs of unscented baby wipes, (2) containers of Clorox/Lysol wipes, (1) pack of latex-free disposable gloves, (1) change of clothes

 

Grade 5: dry erase markers (1 box of 12 for the year), dry erase eraser, (1) dry erase board, pencils, pens, (6) two-pocket folders, (3) single-subject, college ruled spiral notebooks, (1) large notebook for math (more than one subject is preferred), (1) pencil case, (1) pair of scissors, (2) glue sticks, coloring (crayons, markers, OR, colored pencils), (2) pads of Post-Its Notes, (1) box of tissues, (1) container of wipes, and (2) highlighters, 1 pair of headphones inside a Ziploc bag (no wireless please)

 

Grade 5, self-contained ABA: (2) glue sticks, (2) reusable dry erase pockets, (2) fine point expo markers, (12) pencils, (1) 24-pack crayons, (1) 8-pack markers, (2) ruled notebooks (either ½ inch ruled or ⅝ ruled)

 

Grade 6:  (6) two-pocket folders, (4) single-subject, college ruled spiral notebooks, (1) composition notebook (marble notebook), (1) pack of index cards (3x5), (3) pads of Post-Its, (2) colored pens, (2) highlighters, (4) black dry erase markers, (1) pack of markers or colored pencils, (1) pencil case, and (1) box of tissues

Resource Room: 1 pack of Pencils, 1 pack of Glue sticks , Lysol wipes, 2 packs of Expo markers, 2 boxes of quart or gallon Ziploc bags, 2 packs of Sticky notes, 2 boxes of Tissues, 1 folder

 

About

The Nutley School District serves approximately 4,100 students in Kindergarten through grade 12. The five elementary schools serve students K-6 and include Lincoln School, Radcliffe School, Spring Garden School, Washington School and Yantacaw School. John H. Walker Middle School serves students in grades 7-8 while Nutley High School addresses the needs of students in grades 9-12.
